Direct Connection Guide

By default, eGauge meters are set to obtain an IP address from a network via DHCP. If there is no LAN available at the installation location you can still directly connect to the meter with a computer to access settings or data. The instructions in this guide assume that the eGauge is set to DHCP and will be assigned its fallback IP address of: 192.168.1.88. Meters that have been set to use Static IP information will need different IP settings than are suggested in this guide.

Ethernet direct connect for Advanced Users:

Step 1: Connect a computer directly to the EG4xxx/EG3xxx Ethernet port.
Step 2: Set the following static IPv4 properties on the Ethernet adapter used to access the eGauge:
IP Address: 192.168.1.11
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Step 3: Connect to the eGauge interface using a web browser. Enter the device hostname, default IP of 192.168.1.88, or current static IP (if set) in the browser address bar. Note that a different IP address may need to be used on the computer if the eGauge's static IP address is not in the 192.168.1.xxx range.
